This means that the commutator is rough or out of round. Either way, the way to deal with it is to find a machine shop, or generator/alternator repair shop and ask them to just take a very light cut on the commutator to even it out. They'll know exactly what to do. > Secondly, anyone know where I can get a tool to pull apart my pulley? Or is > there some workaround to using a special wrench on that internal nut on the > wheel? You can R & R the generator without taking that nut off, and the shop you take it to will just use an air wrench on it. Just make sure they put it back together without disturbing the shims in there. Remember that I changed the bearings on that one when you were here, so try not to let them do that again. They'll probably want to. -- ******************************* Jim Adney, jadney@vwtype3.org Madison, Wisconsin, USA ******************************* ------------------------------------------------ To unsubscribe, E-mail to: <type3-off@vwtype3.org> For more help, see http://vwtype3.org/list/
