And on the subject of batteries, I used to apprentice for a guy who used to have a VW shop in Sun Valley. He was a Sergeant in the Army for whatever armored infantry it was for as a tank mechanic. He wound up working for VW after the war was over and was trained by Ferry Porshe and met none other than Dr. Ferdinand. He used to love those 1500N sedans he said, loved the single carb version more than the duel. But anyhow, he was working on a battery powered bug using a tank generator as the motor.
