My son (in California) contacted me the other night, about getting his '85 honda CRX licensed back here. He went darkside and installed a Japanese dual overhaed cam engine, and they won't pass him on the emissions test because the engine is not orginal to the frame.
..sounds like he needs to find a "better" smog inspection place -- it'll cost more money, but there are a few "better" places around. If he's near a racetrack, it might be a good idea to ask around a bit and find out where some of the racers get their cars smogged. <nudge><nudge> know what I mean <nudge><nudge>
Thankfully, only my wife's car needs to be smogged, the others are "too old" for it to be required.
