First let me preface this: I still have my 6v cluster, but run 12v. I think this is why I get an incorrect reading from the gas gauge. Or maybe I just have a faulty sender? But anyhow, very near empty the gauge reads a 1/4 of a tank. On my way home I was pretty sure I could I was good w/ gas to make it and thought "what the hell" I will take the quickest way home, which would be the 5 South to 110 West transition. It is a 2 lane transition that has a pretty steep incline, for those not familiar with it. Of course stalling here would not be good. Needless to say, I got past the steepest parts and I felt the loss of power and I thought "ohh shit!". I got 90% of the way up the hill and couldn't go any further. It conked out about 120 feet from the first shoulder. Luckily someone stayed behind me w/ their blinkers on. I did my best to push this about 50 feet but after that my quads were on fire! And I couldn't go any further, they offered to push it to the shoulder the rest of the way and we hooked up bumpers and all went well. After getting some gas from AAA and filling it up, the car, lastnite, would not stay on. A little gas and it was fine, but idling it was non possible. I got it home, took a look at the fuel filter, there were little deposits in there, changed that out, took of the air cleaner. It still would be irradict and I notice a little hesitation now and just what seems like not a very good, complete burn. It is a little better now, especially after I drove it to work, but definitely not the same. Notes and thoughts: I put in 87, I usually use 91; maybe a factor. For about 10mins. I left the ign. on while on the shoulder so I could have one blinker going, could points have gotten messed up? I don't think there is fuel line block, I seem to be getting the same amount of gas and idle is the only real problem. Thanks for any suggestions.
