I need pretty much a complete set of beading for our '68 as it is going into the bodyshop as soon as we get a bit of a thaw here in New England. I was considering the ISP West kit, but would prefer something the correct color (Savannah Beige) that fits right. Anyone have information on this "Mr. Hanover"?ä My question is: Did the fender beading originally have the color molded into it when it was made? My car has been repainted at least once (definitely needs to be stripped down and repainted again) and there are places where it appears that the paint has chipped away from the beading and the beading looks like a fender welting that was originally black and was painted over when the car was (re)painted. The beading pictured in the dealer brochure I have appears to be body color, but I cant tell whether it is painted by the factory or a molded in color. But when ISP West runs their ad on Ebay, they show black beading against a newly repainted car. I know this isnât original, strictly speaking. Can anyone offer an explanation so I can decide how I want to proceed when I get ready to repaint?
