Re: [T3] Weird '67 Squareback

Both ID's (members) signed on to bid on this car, new
accounts and first bids placed same day. You can surf
forever before registering.

As for timing of the bids, that follows when the
original bid was placed, not beat. see detail below,
starting from bottom:

and so on... this continues like this until the end.

kw3427(0) $4,200.00 Feb-12-03 18:07:14 PST
ebbelde(0) $4,150.00 Feb-12-03 16:06:32 PST
Same thing here. ebbe put in a bid $1000 over
asking price. ebay will release this amount just
enough to top a bid, up to his max.

kw bid 9 times get find it.
kw3427(0) $4,100.00 Feb-12-03 18:06:33 PST
kw3427(0) $4,000.00 Feb-12-03 18:05:29 PST
kw3427(0) $3,900.00 Feb-12-03 18:03:51 PST
kw3427(0) $3,750.00 Feb-12-03 18:03:05 PST
kw3427(0) $3,650.00 Feb-12-03 18:02:13 PST
kw3427(0) $3,550.00 Feb-12-03 18:01:12 PST
kw3427(0) $3,450.00 Feb-12-03 18:00:03 PST
kw3427(0) $3,350.00 Feb-12-03 17:58:49 PST
kw3427(0) $3,250.00 Feb-10-03 17:52:24 PST
kw3427(0) $3,200.00 Feb-09-03 19:44:59 PST
it just took kw 2 days to beg the wife to spend
that much on a VW and he bid up to that point.

ebbelde(0) $3,150.00 Feb-07-03 07:06:04 PST *
ebbe placed a bid of $3150 two days back, kw3427(0)
$3,057.57 Feb-09-03 19:43:16 PST
kw3427(0) $2,957.57 Feb-09-03 19:41:06 PST
kw3427(0) $2,857.57 Feb-09-03 19:38:35 PST
kw had to bid 3 times before he topped the highest
amount ebbe* was willing to pay.
standlt(12) $2,757.57 Feb-08-03 09:26:37 PST

I will add that the statement, the winner is who bids
last, not most wins is FALSE. If you bid like ebbe
did here, the full amount you are willing to pay, then
ebay will cover you. Obviously.

I think the point was, when facing a lurking bidder,
the cost may go up only in the last 30-45 seconds, as
people hope to snag the win, from someone hoping for a
bargin. Choose your method and stick to it.

I think part of this particular auction is that
someone looking for a car, may not have an ebay id
prior to bidding, and should hopefully be local. This
car is pretty rare in Ohio, so it likely brought out
some Eb*y newbies. (I find it hard to beleive ther
are still newbies to Ebay ?)

All that said, I can see potential for Everett's scam
alert, and if I were an interested party, i would be
questioning this.

As the way it goes, I imagine the seller will take an
side offer from one of those bidders (if they are
real). He is getting very fair offer @ $5000+
Then he will have no Eb*y commission either!

my $0.37 ! with $ 0.25 listing fee and 2.5% : < )
