The FI computer "hatch" is probably not installed right. There are 2 spring 
clips at the bottom which MUST be slipped over the lower edge of the hole 
first. If this is not done, rainwater will make its way into the interior and 
rust out the floor.

There is a drain hole at the bottom of the fan housing. It is located right at 
the seam between the halves. Clean it out so that accumulated rain can get out 
of there. A pool of water here will be blown all thru the cooling system, 
including over the spark plugs and thru the generator, as soon as you start the 
engine.

Rain water can accumulate in these places for days if the car is not driven, so 
this is not unusual.
