Swim? You're joking, right? We get our water from Alaska and the change in
temperature from there to here feels like it doesn't even
change...BRRRRRRRRRRRR!!! I think 9 out of 10 Oregon beaches are swimmable
(at your own risk).
There are quite a few camping spots along the coast. Most require a park
permit if you plan on camping -- they're not expensive and there will be signs
indicating if you need a permit or not. Personally, I think the central
Oregon coast is the is the most beautiful (Newport/Waldport/Yachats). The
northern part, especially Seaside, is way too commercial-touristy.
