BUT Why waste a good T3 Crankcase with its' special drillings on a Bus
The dipstick will need one of those leaky kits to convert it over. The upright system lends itself to better cooling optoins and the use of an alternator

Welcome! I see that the very, very first thing you need to do is buy a Bentley shop manual as it will answer these and many more questions. A Haynes manual isn't too bad, either, especially if you have an original carb engine -- what do you have, anyway?

I started out on the Idiot's Guide so if you have that then it will help you with timing (and obviously other stuff :-)
