Welcome! I see that the very, very first thing you need to do is buy a
Bentley shop manual as it will answer these and many more questions. A Haynes
manual isn't too bad, either, especially if you have an original carb
engine -- what do you have, anyway?
I started out on the Idiot's Guide so if you have that then it will help you
with timing (and obviously other stuff :-)
