I think that the face was pretty easy to make, I'm guessing that the tach face was printed using a speedo as the template. I think that either a scan was taken or someone "found" the right script. Then it's just a matter of taking a few measurements and printing it out on a good quality printer. It was probably laminated just to protect it from the harsh environment within the car. The dial face was just a quick CNC job. Some 2mm poly would probably do the job, with it CNC'd to shape and the VDO script and notches for the increments. Paint white and assemble with a modified speedo needle. It's just the tach inners and calibrating that pose the problem.
