"They are as different as chalk and cheese". The Porsche museum is a single long narrow building, with some gorgeous cars and a few engines sectioned, while the Mercedes museum has extensive displays on two (three?) floors with a circular ramp you walk up and display areas to the side. Walk-round commentary system, etc. Some good items in the shop for souvenirs, too. Don't know how it may have changed in the last few years. Autostadt at Wolfsburg is even bigger though; the souvenir shop is about the size of the whole Porsche Museum! You can 'do' the Porsche museum within an hour unless you really want to take notes etc. The Mercedes needs a few hours, and Autodstadt - well, get a two day entry pass (you need to ask - they don't seem to expect people to spend that long!). Yes, Greg, very appropriate - "Tag und Nacht". I must get some of my photos on the website - no excuse now. Dave.
