Yeah, galvanic corrosion eats away the light alloy from under the steel bolt 
heads..The flat washers might spread the force out over more area and get some 
more support, but the bolt bosses are actually quite thick and I don't think 
we're in any danger of them weakening noticably.

This is a problem for all the steel fasteners against the case and light alloy 
parts anywhere. I don't know a good solution for it. Perhaps some Al, Mg, or Zn 
washers which would be sacrificial so they could be replaced as they were eaten 
away.
