hi loctite flat washer lock washer spring or star is the way to go here its real tiresome tearing it all down just because a fan shroud bolt came lose! on a side note about fastening in general as i get on a bit i have started to use locking nuts with the plastic inserts for lots of tasks just like this the only trouble you cannot put a tourque on these like you would normally !!! sounds slack but i just trust my judement on it to be honest now. if you havent wrenched to much in your life i dont advise this but if you know the difference between how tight say 7lb/ft is on the sump acorn nuts and how tight you do a wheel axle nut up you may be allright! i would certainly never use the nylock nuts on anything that was extremly tourque dependendent. neil verdon. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org
