In my opinion, they restrict the normal flow of air more than they help. Those blowers were designed to blow air, not suck it from the engines. I have never had much trouble getting heat from VW's since they went to the fresh air system. And I live in the upper midwest where winter temperatures can get down below 0F. Just keep the engine rev'd up. 2nd and 3rd only around town. And not go into 4th until you are over 50 mph on the road. With an automatic trans, just leave it in second until on the highway. -- Russ Wolfe '66 FB MT '71 FB AT '65 Bug (not running) russw@classicvw.org http://www.classicvw.org ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org
