Raul, nice to hear from ya, bro! If there was ever a person who needed
sleeping hinges... ;-p"""
Back when I was in the Navy I drove my baby from Corvallis, Oregon to
Charleston, South Carolina in 3.5 days...in JANUARY! And my route was I-5
south to L.A. then across AZ, NM, TX, etc. It would've been 3 days but a 1/2
day was lost due to my baby not starting. Trouble-shooting with Dad (on a pay
phone) fixed the problem: My constant use of cheap gas left me with water in
the tank. After dumping in some gas drier and some more cranking to fill the
carb bowls with gas I was on my way (lesson learned, never use cheap gas,
ESPECIALLY when traveling x-country!). Of course, my days we over 13 hours
long. But I was in my early twenties back then ;-)
Yeah, get the engine checked out before replacing it...it'll be a LOT cheaper!
Hope you can join us when the day comes!
