But there seems to be conflicting numbers on the car and on the description of the car from Minichamps and on the box. That's why I think there are different parts of different model years on the model itself (ie the wipers). I guess they were not quite sure what year to make it. If you read the info on the box it is also conflicting, it says production ended in July 1971 on the English side but in German it says Juli 1973, so there may be some other translation mistakes? On the box it also has 'Technical Data' that seems correct- Engine: Air cooled flat four cylinder Output: 54 hp at 4,000 rpm Displacement: 1.584 ccm Dimensions and weight: 4.368 mm, width 1.640 mm, height 1.470 mm, Weight 960 kg Drivetrain: 4 speed gearbox (Automatic transmission optional) Front suspension: independent trailing arms, anti-roll bar, telescopic dampers Rear Suspension: Independent with semi-trailing arms, torsion bars, telescopic dampers Chassis/body: Backbone platform Performance: top speed 140 kph The actual model is by my measurements: 9.5 in. long, 3.75 in. wide and 3.25 in. tall, and weighs about 2 lbs. BTW, it is also made in China, WOW a Chinese import Squareback ;) Jason Smith 71 Square AT FI ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org
