Vanagon = The version of the Type 2 that came out in 1980, more square looking than the previous version. It had the same basic 2L engine that was started in about 1976. It was also available with a diesel. They were definitely available in the UK, but I can't recall what they were called there. I think you're correct Type 25, if that translates into Type 2 version 5. I don't recall how the different versions were defined. They quit making them in about 1994, to be replaced by the front engine vehicle called the Eurovan in the US, the current Volkswagen van available. Did we get them in the UK ? Is it a Type 25 ? Sorry, never heard that phrase before. -----Original Message----- From: tristessa [mailto:tristessa@mx.pon.net] Sent: 28 August 2003 23:49 To: type3@vwtype3.org Subject: check out this Fastback "Chris Bray" <chris.bray@key-systems.com> wrote: >I see what you're saying, it probarbly would be easier, but are >stock FI parts 'big' enough to flow enough air/fuel for a >2110cc motor, possibly with a Turbo (possibly even Nitrous), I don't know if it helps any, but if you get a chance you might want to look at the plenum and runners from a later watercooled Vanagon engine. The WBX intake ports are *very* similar, and while I don't know if they'll clear the oil cooler (or fit under the lid), but they'll bolt to the heads. The late Vanagons were 2109cc engines, so there might be enough flow potential there. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org
