Judging from the color of the plugs and the deposits I'd say that side was running a tad lean, but nothing *too* major. >loose. Still, it probably means It's the upper stud on the #1 bearing, FWIW. <deletia> >Remember: No one cares as much about your car as you do. >Sorry you had such a bad experience. Yeah, I know. I didn't have a major financial investment in the engine (less than $200, IIRC), and the reason for that GEX POS was just that it came available cheaply at a time when I needed an engine *fast* because I was losing my garage and workspace due to a move. All in all it wasn't *too* bad of an experience overall. It was good to see Toby, Martin (even if it *was very briefly), and Brian and Shannon again .. even if the circumstances weren't ideal. And hey, I'm looking at the brighter side -- now I've got one less thing to "pack" when my wife and I move. =) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org
