would overheating be the result of too little fuel pressure?

i have tomorrow off and will be working on both of the 70,s and i had planned
on getting the pressure up to just about 28 psi (instead of closer to 30) and
seeing if that would eliminate my idle drop when braking with the clutch in.
then i will keep an eye on the mileage to come. i keep a spread sheet with
odometer reading and gallons religiously, so i can deduce mpg. i have since i
bought the fastback.
