Is there a > "fix" for this? Tear apart the pump and refurbish it perhaps? This usually only happens if the overflow hose in the RF fender is cracked, letting in dirt and water. Check that hose, or look to see if it leaks gas when you fill up. I don't know anyone who has succeeded in rebuilding a pump, but this may not be necessary if you can get the system clean again. The pump will probably just recover if you can get its gas clean again.
