Probably this winter. Are you sure they are Torx? I thought Torx was a US design and not metric. There's a much older metric head that looks like a Torx but it's called an XZN. > I hope you are planning on keeping Sophy for the rest of your life. They don't strip out, but I hate it when they come in a new size that I don't have. > BTW, does anybody know that there were 2 different style screws used by > VW and there was a definite place on the engine for each?? I guess the self tapping thread was there to clear the paint out of the welded-on nuts on the cooling tin. There are a bunch of these screws that I prefer to replace with 10mm hex heads so I can get them off in the future. The hex head means that I can get at them either from the side with a box wrench or from overhead with a socket. Either way I get a more positive grip than with a screwdriver slot. -- ******************************* Jim Adney, jadney@vwtype3.org Madison, Wisconsin, USA ******************************* ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org
