You need to remove the split pins (roll pins) out of the ends. One end is in the large round handle for adjusting the back rest, the other is in the small end cap. Then you spead the back rest legs of the shaft. >How can I remove the rails? > - I see some sheetmetal clips that hold the rail to the bottom... don't >tell me that's how I have to go about this. Some of those clips are so >tight I don't think I can pry them off easily... if at all. If you then turn the seat bottom over, you will see some flat 1/2" wide tabs of steel, unfold them, and then you can remove the seat bottom from the seat base. Now the real work starts, and that is removing the materiual from the seat frames, by way of unfolding the spikes. Be careful, as these are sharp. Then you can do the tops. Get the buttons off, then at the bottom of the back is where the front and back get joined together to close off the seat. Here again you will find those spikes (3 I think) that hold it together. You might also find 2 hog rings (one on each side) that help close the sides off. >I searched the archives, but I don't seem to be too good at searching, and I >looked through the tech section but I'm still unclear about this. I don't think you will find it any where, as it is one of those "you have to have done it before deals", to know what is needed. I hope this helps, and if you need more info e- mail me off list.
