I have always had several of these on hand and have noticed both 311 and 341 pn. On both Knecht and Mann producers. Most have 341 pn that Ive ever seen and have the winter flap on top as well. What I think may have happened is the top flap was developed for the T34 for what ever reason. My unrestored 62 notch has a piece with no flap on top, the weighted lower flapper and a 311 pn. If anyone out there has a real gem of a 62 ghia they know not to be molested or modified, Id be interested to know what came with yours. 311 or 341?? So maybe the T34 was to get dual carbs originaly and thats why the # as I think Dave was hinting at. I say that because I have only seen the T34 pn on dual carb air cleaners with the flap on top. Look at my link. First is the knecht 341 typical dual carb one. Second is an odd fellow by mann with a 311C and sidways pn with no flap. Third is the early single carb one like on my 62 notch with no flap on top and a 311B pn. http://images.andale.com/f2/115/106/2789089/1062954673335_demmo.JPG Jason ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org
