Soon after I got my '69 three years ago, I noticed an occasional click-click. Especially going uphill. The axels had no "up/down" or "side/side" play. So I moved the axles axially in/out several times. This made the clicking go away for a couple of years. When the clicking returned again recently, I did the same thing with the axles, and the clicking went away again. I guess I really need to get into the CVs soon just to re-grease them. Car has 127k miles, and I have no idea if the CVs have ever been serviced. -Mark Fuhriman '69 Fastback ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org
