OTOH, In every case I've ever seen, a trigger point contact that gets dirty and stops contacting brings the WHOLE engine to a halt. I suspect that the circuitry needs the trigger signal to trigger one set of injectors AND to reset the other circuit. I believe there have been a few reports here of some brains which would continue running on just 2 cylinders when dirt got in one trigger point. I don't remember which year/brain that was, but it may have been a 70 with the C brain. -- Jim Adney jadney@vwtype3.org Madison, WI 53711-3054 USA ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org
