I know this won't really help you but I've had ATE replacement calipers supplied with two bleed valves on one side and two on the other. Not sure why they were like that. As far as I know they are only shared with 411's. Did the 411's come with one bleed valve at any point? I used the non-matching calipers without any issues though. cheers, Dan '71 Squareback '73 Fastback ---- -----Original Message----- From: Jim Adney [mailto:jadney@vwtype3.org] Sent: 12 August 2003 06:16 To: type3@vwtype3.org Subject: Re: [T3] Brake Caliper Question The there were NO LATE type 3 calipers with a single bleed valve, so I'd wonder what this caliper was. ATe dust boots have the ATe part # molded into them, so if they used ATe parts you could look and see if the part # includes a 42, which is the piston diameter. I'd be concerned that this caliper came off another car that used the same size ATe casting but was machined for a different size of piston. -- ******************************* Jim Adney, jadney@vwtype3.org Madison, Wisconsin, USA ******************************* ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org
