The there were NO LATE type 3 calipers with a single bleed valve, so I'd wonder what this caliper was. ATe dust boots have the ATe part # molded into them, so if they used ATe parts you could look and see if the part # includes a 42, which is the piston diameter. I'd be concerned that this caliper came off another car that used the same size ATe casting but was machined for a different size of piston. If you decide to go with these calipers the bleed valve needs to be on top, but there are OTHER things that also have to be right, too, if these have the original style pistons, so there are several questions here. > Jim, I still plan on having you rebuild my previous > set...safe to say that I don't want to deal with B&S > again anytime soon (has ANYONE ever received anything > from them in less than 2 weeks?). I'm often slow, but rebuilds from me would probably have been a better deal all around. How much did B/S charge for these rebuilds? What's their core charge, if any? -- ******************************* Jim Adney, jadney@vwtype3.org Madison, Wisconsin, USA ******************************* ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org
