WAIT! This is the same issue I had with a pair of late model calipers I purchased here in Denver. My calipers do say VW ATE on them, and they work just fine. For whatever reason, only one of my factory rebuilt calipers has two bleeder valves. As I was told by the list, make sure the caliper with the one bleeder valve is positioned on top when you install it. Mine work great, and hopefully yours will also. I'm sure Bill and Steve's ordered your calipers from the same parts distributor as my shop did. Like you, I had to wait two weeks for them as well.
