Both wires go into the FI wiring harness, but only the temp sensor wires
actually go to the brain.

You could carefully push back the boot on the connector that is there and find
the numbers on it, then compare those numbers to the FI wiring diagram. Once
you know which connector THAT one is, then you know what the other one WAS, by
elimination.

If the air cleaner turned upside down when it spilled, then oil could have
gotten into the top section, and from there it could have been sucked into the
IAD. This MIGHT be the source of the puddle you felt. If this is what happened
then it should settle down eventually as that oil gets consumed. If there is a
deep puddle in there, then it would be best to minimize how much of this you
actually let go thru the engine (it's full of abrasive dirt, after all) so it
might be wise to try to empty the IAD. If your car is earlier than 72-3 then
you should be able to pull the pressure sensor hose off and let it drip out of
there. You could even splash some gas in the IAD, scrub it around with an old
toothbrush and let it all drain and then dry.

Could this leak be coming from in front of the engine? There is a gas return
line on that side.

As if it had been drawn in from the air cleaner? Consider wiping out the inside
of the rubber intake elbow and the throat of the air cleaner. Remember that the
upper half of the air cleaner should always be held upright.

Does your breather pipe have a short hose that connects it to the oil fill
pipe?

When you insert your dipstick can you feel the spring loaded center rod touch
bottom just before the cap goes all the way closed?
