There are a couple of things you should check. First check that all 4 of the hold down bolts that secure the gas tank are tight. These ground the tank. Then check that the wire connection to the gauge sender on top of the tank is tight. If these don't do it, you can take the gauge sender out of the tank and take it apart and VERY GENTLEY clean the wire inside. Be careful, it is fragile and it will break or stretch if you aren't careful. Replacements are somewhat hard to find. > Second, the AC. Are you sure that you're not just talking about the black plastic airbox that sits in front of the radio? If so, that just brings in fresh air. If you have dealer installed AC the underdash unit for that runs from side to side clear across the underside of the dash. The compressor would be to the right rear of the engine and the condensor is under the front end of the car. I don't have any info on the wiring for the AC, but Russ may. -- ******************************* Jim Adney, jadney@vwtype3.org Madison, Wisconsin, USA ******************************* ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org
