Hi, I'm back on the list (not that anyone noticed I left ;-))since I'm back to working on the '66 fasty. When I stopped I had just rebuilt the MC with an NOS rebuild kit. I followed the instructions in the kit and the Factory T3 manual I have to the letter. The one thing I did not have/could find was a new rubber stopper that attaches the fluid feed line to the MC so I re used the old one. Are new ones Available?? The bore was honed, and all the parts were installed per instruction in the correct orientation. I reinstalled it and filled up the system with fluid. All good right? Well the problem is that it will not build pressure. I've now taken it off and all apart, checked all the parts again including the operation of the check valve and the cup and piston seal orientation and all are per the manual. The only thing I don't have is "brake paste" as described in the book. It states you need to use "brake paste" when assembling the parts. I've never heard of that, where can I get some or what would be a suitable substitute?? Thanks. Great to have this list to go to in times of need :-) Steve ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org
