PhilC=> do you think it would be wise to rip the => whole old one out before I get the new one? That's more or less what I did with mine. Nobody makes an off-the -shelf harness for the Type 34, so it had to come out so the wiring guy could copy it, and it had to come out intact. I pulled it (cleverly leaving a pull wire behind in the process) and sent it away. About two weeks and 250 bucks later I had a brand new factory correct harness (with a couple of minor modifications I ordered). I hooked it up to my pull wire and put it in. It was the cheapest and easiest big fix in the entire restoration, and I recommend it highly. Whether it's the right thing for you depends on your particular situation. I have a 34, which is different from your car in certain structural details that might make the job harder or easier, I don't know. I had the car disassembled, the interior was completely out, and that makes things easier. I'm pretty good at spatial relationships and taking good notes. You'll want to think this idea through with your own capabilities and sitation in mind.
