Flat bed only! <sigh> If ya gotta use a dolly then put the front wheels on the dolly and the car in neutral with the emergency brake off. Make sure you double-check! If towing an automatic then you need to disconnect the rear axles, the CV joints at the wheel is easiest and allows you to easily hang the axles. http://www.icbm.org/erkson/ttt/transmission.html Still in doubt? Just ask any of the T3 Portland Invasioneers! http://www.icbm.org/erkson/personal/t3invasion/index.htm where the towed T3 does a 180 on the freeway :-( Before: http://www.icbm.org/erkson/personal/t3invasion/06flex_gone.jpg and after: http://www.icbm.org/erkson/personal/t3invasion/07twister.jpg Toby Erkson -- air_cooled_nut@pobox.com '72 VW Squareback, '95 VW Jetta, '81 Gold Wing http://www.icbm.org/ Portland, Oregon ----- Original Message ----- > What's the best way to tow a VW on a 2 wheel dolly, with the front > wheels, or the back wheels?
