Unfortunately the Bentley isn't much help here as it only gives a length for the manual trans axles.( 405.3mm or 15.955inches installed in the car length) and ( 415.5mm or 16.357inches total over all length). Just the overal length of the shaft is about 26mm shorter. If you got both shafts from Martin, you could measure them to determine which is shoerter and install it on the right side. I have 2 AT cars here, but never had both axles off at the same time (for greasing) as I didn't want to mix sides. I hope this helps.
