Its very difficult to get decent plain copper stuff off the reel- I don't
want to buy an expensive kit and chop the ends off, so if this is reasonably
priced I will buy some to replace the "super bougiecord" on there now. I did
buy some from you a while back but had to mix it with some dubious stuff
that you could see sparks inside along its length at night- the conductor
wasn't continuous!

You might have a point there Jim- perhaps no3 is just much less tolerant of
this than the others because of its lower compression. Thing is, the jets
are the original ones so they should be the right size. I guess it must be
the idle jets that we're talking about- they're in the cut off valve- I'll
take a look at those today and see if they need a clean or something. I'll
also have a look for air leaks. I think everytime I take the carbs off I
have problems for a while when I put them back on again. It seems they need
a while to settle in, or for the gaskets to seal properly.
