Absolutely, those of us in the Salt Belt work with dollar coin (not those
Susan B. dollars either) size holes as the norm, and the lower 6'' is about
right. The head light bucket being gone however is where I draw the line on
fixing them. If you look at the photos that the West coast guys cutting up,
just makes you cry at the good steel they had to work with. I do agree with
Keith on getting the bondo out and clean up the holes to weld in some new
steel, as its probably cheaper in the long run, with shipping charges and
having to clean them up too (BTDT). If you fix them, you can always keep an
eye out for a pair or individual parts at a later date. I did this on my
Notch for the first year, and then came across another set that still needed
some work, but not as much work as my OE set did. My son has been reworking
my old pair, mixed with good metal from some late model parts to make an
early set for his Roadster project. Just be sure that you use duro glas to
seal the welded area to keep the moisture out. I hope this helps.
