I haven't done this, so I can't speak from direct experience, but I'd expect
that with *late* stock carbs and some careful tuning you could have decent
performance. If you're looking to build a dragster, this would probably not
be your best approach.

If you find a good rebuilder, this question won't come up. If you're looking
for a crate motor, I think you're taking a gamble either way.
