> Did you find new rubber for the rear window? If so, where? The rear window rubber was a WCM unit I had from before, I hadn't put it in until I did the once and final restoration, otherwise it would fall apart in the sun. The front is from ISP West and is a OEM German seal, the difference is apparent just from handling them both-more substantial, denser feeling and the weld area at the bottom where the two ends join just looks better. > > Here in Florida, you can rest assured that any old VW which has been > stored outside (most of them) will have dried and cracked out rubber. Definitely, the curse of the semi-tropics; very little rust on cars that come from this area (not so on Northern transplants, my own as a prime example) but the sun is brutal on rubber and paint jobs also. I've never had a VW of any type down here that didn't need all the rubber worked on. The Notch I'll try to be a little more proactive on, lots and lots of protectant. > > Thanks, De nada, David Walters '73 1600 L Notchback S.
