<x-charset iso-8859-1>I went through this last year when the same thing happened to my 70 bus. Unless you have insurance for a stated amount on your car your company will probably tell you that your on you own. Then the other guys company will send out an appraiser and the tell you " After hard consideration we are prepared to give you $1100 and we keep the vehicle, We feel that this is a fair and generous offer" . Then you will tell them that they obviously inhale to much whit-out and there is no way you will accept that ludicrous offer. You then point out that NADA says that your car is worth $xxxx and they reply that NADA is just a general idea and they don't use that guide, They use Joe Bondo's guide to old cars, and of course you've never heard of there car guide. My advice is to stick with them, Don't settle for a seriously low amount. Tell them you want more than you really do and let them talk you down. Request ALL paperwork and find all incorrect information. For example , the adjuster documented that my bus had a 6cylinder, power steering and power brakes. I used that to insist that the guy didn't know what he was talking about and didn't give an accurate appraisal. I called there 1-800 number and harassed them every day and after 2 months I got a fair deal. That was with AIG insurance. hope this helps, Bryan www.mvwe.org ------------------------------------------------ To unsubscribe, E-mail to: <type3-off@vwtype3.org> For more help, see http://vwtype3.org/list/ </x-charset>
