It uses a thermocouple, which doesn't even know you have 6 or 12. The tach: I dunno. It's a pulse counter, and you may be in trouble. The voltmeter: of course, except it will always read kinda lowish :-) Oil temp, oil pressure, etc.: these all use variable resistors as sensors, and likely use a voltage divider setup to create a signal. Then, I'm guessing, that this voltage goes through the analog ammeter you see on the gauge face. If I'm correct, then 6 and 12 do indeed matter.
