Is there anything anyone has used successfully that will strip > the old paint and crud off? I have used Tergo (sp?) paint stripper to get old paint off engine tin with good results. It is real powerful stuff, it will take grease, oil, paint, dirt and even your skin off! It looks sort of like porridge, and you paint it on the surface you want to strip and leave it for about 10 minutes, then brush or wash it off along with the paint, then follow that with rust killer to prep the surface before painting. You need to wear gloves and use it outside though, it gives off very strong fumes.
