<x-charset iso-8859-1>>I work for a VW shop in Christchurch New Zealand and a couple of our owners have a little "black box" device that is fitted to their 6v cars (both KG's by chance) that allows them to run a 12v CD/cassette unit. > Radio Shack in the USA used to sell these, I have one I bought at a swap meet for $5. Coincidentally, it's marked "59 Ghia" on it in junkyard pen (neon yellow). Someone on the Bus list talked about making a solid state one a while back, I don't think anything came of it. They are not too useful for the most modern radios that need a constant hot connection to remember your presets as it would have to running all the time, which drains the battery. Plus no amps = no dope bass. -- Everett Barnes '67 Squareback - no radio = cheap original owners ------------------------------------------------ To unsubscribe, E-mail to: <type3-off@vwtype3.org> For more help, see http://vwtype3.org/list/ </x-charset>
