Bet you the rubber hoses to the front brakes are bad. They tend to swell inside and not allow the pressure in the caliper to go back down. For the first little while the brakes didn't bind on you, right? But as you kept using the brakes, the restricted diameter of your collapsing hoses caused the brake fluid to gradually build up and eventually bind the brake. Kind of like a check valve, not letting the fluid drain back out of the caliper. Get new rubber hoses all around. The right rear hose is hard to find (I think the catalogs at the parts counter at the store are wrong). Take the old one in and get something close to the right length. Raybestos has one that's close. Replace the brake fluid. If your car has sat for a long time, you might want to get the calipers and brake cylinders rebuilt. I recommend Jim Adney, if he's available :) -Mark Fuhriman ------------------------------------------------ To unsubscribe, E-mail to: <type3-off@vwtype3.org> For more help, see http://vwtype3.org/list/
