<x-charset iso-8859-1>> Dave Hall will attest that the 73 we were driving around in Madison seemed > to be just on the edge of not wanting to work anymore. Yes, I was getting a reputation as a Jonah - I set off in the driving seat from Rock Springs, and the '69 started misfiring, then just stopped (maybe a rough road shook up the cylinder-head injector earth). Later the same day I got into John's and it immediately started running roughly (needle valve had loosened and carb was empty). Then back at Jim's, I had trouble with the beige '73 not wanting to run when cold. While I'm prepared to believe these cars may have a touch of xenophobia, I don't see how I could have caused Jason's tie-rod end to become worn though. So the '73 has now had a deep clean, some chrome polish and a tune up and lube. I bet it liked all that attention, Jim! Next the rust spots, before the winter salt turns them to holes? I think there was some beige in cans in the basement - maybe it's the right shade? I like days like that. Steve and I had a good day on Chris' Polo which has to be sold as he doesn't need it in London, and we've run out of children to pass it on to. I hate selling cars, it seems such a betrayal! Maybe someone will want it, but it's over 19 years old and at about the bottom of its value, the point at which many perfectly good cars get scrapped. I need Russ' workshop; it could hide in the corner until desirable again! Dave.
