Re: [T3] poor emissions final update
<x-flowed>>I'm not sure that anything they did, other than fix a loose connection, had
any effect at all. It is just possible that their emissions tester is set a
tad lax,
or that they were doing you a favor.
well, they have an analyzer, but they can't do the official emissions. they
said that the injector plugs being switced was the main problem. they put
the car on an analyzer, and passed it. then i picked it up and went to an
official emission test center (ETC) and officially passed, so i don't think
they were lenient, or passed it on the scope.
What year is this? If it is a 72 or 73 with the dashpot on the throttle
this may
be correct. If it is earlier, the throttle valve switch may not be set
right and
this is keeping the throttle somewhat open. I doubt if the latter is the
case,
as your idle speed is still pretty good.
this is a 1970. from what i read about the throttle switch this sounds like
the case. it is miss adjusted and keepng the throttle open too long. but i
kinda wanted a consensus for how long the throttle switch keeps open the
throttle. is about five seconds to idle ok? if i adjust the idle down a bit,
will the rev time come down or stay the same.
after i got the car back, i touched nothing until i passed the ETC, now that
i have, i am going to document what they did (like throttle position) and
see if i can put it back.
