In 10 minutes I swapped a spare one in and the problem that had taked me a good 20 hours was fixed. I was grinning like a loony on the test drive. Many thanks ! I spotted that the wound wire hidden underneath the regulator had a small break in it. I'm not sure if this is *the* fault. The misfire suddenly appeared when we collected the car from a garage. They had done a small amount of MIG welding on the car and I don't think they disconnected the battery. Could that have killed the regulator ? (a very happy) Matt. ------------------------------------------------ To unsubscribe, E-mail to: <type3-off@vwtype3.org> For more help, see http://vwtype3.org/list/ </x-charset>
