<x-charset iso-8859-1>Plug tip position is dependent on two things. 1) Position of tip relative to start of threads. Q - Are these consistent plug-to-plug, year-to-year, by different manufacturers, model-to-model? A = Somehow I doubt it, seriously doubt it. 2) Position of start of thread in head relative to the start of threads in plug, relative to tip. This would mean that the threading of each plug hole in the head would have to be indexed when first machined, otherwise it's a crap shoot. As for advantage? I've got inline magnets and water injectors for sale. dubious Jeff - '67 Sqbk -----Original Message----- I've read that a cheap to way to get more consistent fuel burning among all cylinders is to install the spark plugs so that the electrodes all point in the same direction. I see in John's pictures that both electrodes point toward the intake valve. Is there any substantial gain or benefit in indexing spark plugs? ------------------------------------------------ To unsubscribe, E-mail to: <type3-off@vwtype3.org> For more help, see http://vwtype3.org/list/ </x-charset>
