Re: [T3] No. 2 Exhaust Valve Problem - Update

<x-charset windows-1252>The Hi-Rev springs did not bind at all. I will bring one into work tomorrow and measure its compressed load. Don't have a stock spring to compare it to, but can see how it matches up to the values in Bentley. I figured that the stock springs would just ease the load on the poor valve seats a bit. Can't hurt.

Yeah I might be able to salvage the head by putting a new guide in and recutting the seat and shortening that valve a bit and maybe shimming the rockers out a bit, but....the tooling and fixtures are 45 minutes away and I don't have another way to get there so I am looking to get a new or at least different head that can be rebuilt. Get it all ready, and then just do a head swap. Can't afford to have the car down for more than a day or two. Of course, if I can coax a couple of months out of her until I put her away for the winter and get my winter car on the road, then I could just try to save the current head.

There is a VW show and swap in Toledo weekend after next. Will look around there for a replacement head.
