I view unnecessary braking as akin to > throwing a small handful of pennies out the window each time. > Talking about anticipation, getting to the Type 3 meeting without using the footbrake unnecessarily, needed quite a bit. After the front brakes had seized up 10 miles into the journey as a result of the incorrect m/c rebuild (not yet investigated) I released pressure from the bleed screws. It was curious at the next rest stop to observe the front wheels cold and the rears just slightly warm, rather than the usual hot front and warm rear. It wasn't too bad driving on anticipation, and using the footbrake only when brake-lights were advisable. The 600 miles was probably the cheapest journey ever, with minimal brake and tyre wear and maximum mpg! Probably wore out my nerves a bit more than usual though. Dave.
